La guarida

La guarida is a Spanish drama film set in the cold and hostile city of Madrid. The film follows a very impoverished man as he wanders the city looking for cigarette butts. After being humiliated by rude and judgmental people at a bar, he returns to an isolated hut where he lives with a lazy and reclusive man who refuses to abandon the place. The hut is more like a lair for savage animals than a shelter for human beings. The film provides a stark and unflinching look at poverty, homelessness, and the dehumanizing effects of extreme social isolation.
