Doris Day stars as Anne, a young woman who is persuaded to marry Prince Valdar (Louis Jourdan), a wealthy but uncouth man, in order to help her father. Anne, however, already loves Nick (Reed Hadley) and must decide between her heart and her family's financial well-being.
