Zappatore

Zappator, The Mad Butcher is a relentless, grindhouse splatter movie that relishes in uncut, gruesome gore. While it caters mainly to fans of gritty and over-the-top gorefests, it's, in no way, a torture porn, and it actually does have some well-developed characters considering its subject matter, which is pretty commendable for a movie that forgoes a traditional plotline in favor of higher-than-normal levels of blood and guts. It's a love-or-hate watch though, so be duly cautioned because it always rides the fine line between clever and gratuitously gory, though always hovering toward the right side of believability and thankfully short of too-gnarly latex and/or CGI body parts. At 90 minutes in length, it reeks with gristly stylings and madness, and there's no question about it, this cheapie movie is amateurish in terms of production and effects, but its amateurish appearance does wonders for the flick by making it appear more natural. In short, fans of the old-timey Italian gorefests will consider this movie to be one of the best modern-day splatter epics of a generation. It gets a firm B-.
