Detaylar
Nong Boowa Daeng (Red Lotus Marsh) is a 2015 Thai romantic drama film directed by Kantawat Kalprasert and starring Jeab Lalana, Winai Kraibutr, and Ken Theeradeth. The film tells the story of a young woman named Nong Boowa (Lalana), who lives in a small village in the province of Isan in northeast Thailand. Nong Boowa is a beautiful and kind-hearted woman, but she is also very poor. She works hard to support her family, but she is struggling to make ends meet. One day, Nong Boowa meets a wealthy businessman from Bangkok named Saeng (Theeradeth). Saeng is immediately smitten with Nong Boowa, and he sets out to win her heart. However, Nong Boowa is not interested in him at first. She has been hurt by men in the past, and she is hesitant to trust Saeng. However, Saeng is persistent, and he eventually wins her over. Nong Boowa and Saeng fall in love, and they get married. However, their happiness is short-lived. Saeng, Nong Boowa's husband, is murdered. Nong Boowa was devastated but does not give up and fights for justice. This revealing truth brought the murderers of her husband to justice. She eventually finds closure and is able to move on with her life. The film's lack of star power among its principal cast fails to waver the appeal of Nong Boowa Daeng. Its cinematography, music, and message save the film from falling into the realm of mediocrity. Its strong use of Buddhism and the subtle roles of the minor characters make up for the convenience and predictability of its main plotline. Call it a romance, call it a tale of revenge, or call it a testament to a strong woman -- the film checks all the right boxes of melodrama. In addition to its critical acclaim, Nong Boowa Daeng was also a commercial success. It was the highest-grossing Thai film of 2015, grossing over $10 million at the box office.
