Heroes of the Alamo

To The Last Man...They Defended Texas Liberty!

Detaylar

Heroes of the Alamo, a 1936 independently made and produced drama film, tells the story of the heroic men who defended the Alamo against the Mexican forces led by General Antonio López de Santa Anna. The film was made by The Torchbearer, owned by noted Texan W. D. Clayton, and was the first major Hollywood film shot in the state of Texas, in this case, in downtown San Antonio and on location at the Alamo itself. The film was shot in both black and white and Cinecolor by ace cinematographer Arthur Miller, a future Academy Award winner for his work in color cinematography. The film was a critical and commercial success upon its initial release, helping to raise even more money for the Texas Centennial Commission's preservation efforts at the Alamo.
