Theodor Körner

Theodor Körner (born September 23, 1791 in Dresden, died August 26, 1813 in Gadebusch, Mecklenburg-Schwerin) was a Saxon patriot, writer and Lützow volunteer, who died in the Battle of Kitzen near Gadebusch in 1813 whilst fighting the French during the Napoleonic wars. His poems became massively popular, especially for the younger generation of people, though with mixed critical reception in Germany. This silent film tells one romanticized version of his story.
